At Frank Barnes, we recognise that teachers’ assessment practice is central to effective teaching and learning. We are committed to developing and implementing assessment processes that will advance our pupils’ learning and improve our teaching whilst also meeting statutory requirements. We recognise the importance of both formative and summative assessments to establish the pupils’ levels of attainment and to inform planning and target-setting, which is carefully tailored the meet the needs of individual pupils. We also recognise the importance of involving the pupils in their own learning, with the class teacher focusing on their learning journey by providing appropriate feedback, increasing self-esteem and raising achievement for all. 

 At the end of Key Stage 1 and 2 national tests and assessments are administered and results reported to parents.
